Sha Lina, born in Hubei in 1989, currently lives and works in Wuhan. She is adept at presenting her ideas through installations, video, and drawings. With an acute sensitivity towards the unique characteristics of different materials and mediums, she is especially meticulous about the compatibility between these characteristics and the ideas she seeks to present. Sha usually allows her intuition to guide her at the beginning of her creation process, and from such instinctive knowing, she examines the validity of her logic and moves on to develop her works. These works manifest the reality she faces, her concerns about society, and her day-to-day feelings. Her solo exhibition Land? Diary was presented at chi K11 art space in Wuhan in 2015. Her recent group exhibitions include On Site/ Visual at Taipei Artist Village, Taipei (2016); The Middle Ground at Times Art Museum, Beijing (2016); and Decade?oday Art Museum Annual Nomination Exhibition for Students of Academics (Today Art Museum, Beijing, 2015). Sha was one of the artists participating in the Artist-in-Residence Programme of K11 art village, Wuhan, in 2016.
