Caroline Walker, artist; Dr. Shen Qilan, art critic

London-based Scottish contemporary artist Caroline Walker depicts in her paintings the daily lives of anonymous women who are often taken for granted, through which she explores such issues as motherhood and femininity, and questions the norms of portraying women and the female form.

To gain a deeper understanding of Walker’s artistic practice, K11 MASTER CLASS presented an online conversation between the artist and art critic Dr. Shen Qilan during Walker’s first solo exhibition in China. In this conversation, Walker shared her creative inspirations and talked about the everywomen whom she came across during the course.
