K11 Artist Prize Winner Announcement

On 25 March, K11 Art Foundation and the K11 Art Foundation International Council announced Xin Liu as the recipient of the inaugural K11 Artist PrizeDr. Alia Al-Senussi, Chairman of the International Council, shared this exciting news with international arts professionals. “Xin is distinguished by an innovative, interdisciplinary practice deeply inspired by her Chinese identity and heritage. Born and raised in Xinjiang, and now based in New York, her work explores and celebrates the perspectives of different contexts and worlds, serving as an important bridge between cultures and communities,” Dr. Alia Al-Senussi said. 

As the winning artist of the K11 Artist Prize, Liu will have the invaluable opportunity to participate in the international projects organised by the K11 Art Foundation and receive mentorship from esteemed founding members of the K11 Art Foundation International Council, which includes founding members A4 Arts Foundation, Basma Al Sulaiman, Sarah Arison, Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Eugenio Re Rebaudengo and Olga Re Rebaudengo.

Other artists shortlisted for the Prize included Han Mengyun, Greg Ito, Yeonsu Ju, Melissa Ling, Shota Nakamura, Sun Yitian, and Alexandre Zhu.
